Our Promise to You
PURE Microfiber was founded with three important goals:
- Improve the quality of cleanliness through microfiber-based technologies.
- Lead an honest company, removing marketing claims and twisted facts that we have seen arise over recent years on products like these
- Provide the highest quality microfiber products at an affordable price
How will we accomplish our goals?
- Leveraging our team of microfiber experts, with a combined background of +100 years’ experience
- Providing a portfolio that was cost effective, delivering superior cleaning abilities compared to traditional cotton and polyester cleaning products.
- Our focus is on Cleaning Surfaces in your Home as well as Skin Health.
- Helping the Environment. Microfiber limits the need for excessive cleaning chemical use, therefore improving environmental impact
- Reducing the damaging effects that chemicals may cause overtime to your skin and surfaces.
Leading an Honest Company
- Leading an honest company starts with providing factual information.
- We have all been to parties where miracle products are presented to us, wiping down a surface contaminated with raw chicken or another soil, claiming it is disinfected.
- This is dangerous information and while companies that sells these technologies do not condone pitching it this way, it is oftentimes verbal through Direct Marketing Parties. You will never see these companies put these miracle claims in writing. They let their Direct Marketing wheel keep turning, limiting the risk to the Company.
What is Microfiber?
- Microfiber is another word for a very fine, synthetic yarn.
- The most common types of microfibers on the market are made from polyester and polyamide (synthetic materials).
- The two raw materials are extruded into a plastic fiber and then processed with mechanical and chemical action to be broken into 16 finer fibers.
- Once split, these fibers are typically 1/200 the diameter of a human hair, hence the name micro fiber.
- Cloths, personal care products, mops, etc. are made of this amazing material.
Microfibers have a lot of desirable qualities.
- Cleaning Power: Because of the splits in the fibers, dirt, dust and bacteria can be collected in these channels, rather than being pushed around. Traditional cotton cloths, per EPA documentation, can only collect 58% of these soils, while microfiber shows greater than a 99% reduction. The fiber types also go to work, Polyamide provides a mechanical action to remove soils while polyester allows the product to glide over the surface. Without the polyester, the polyamide would cling to the surface too much.
- Absorbency: Microfiber is a highly absorbent material. It can pick up to 10 times its own weight in liquid. With this being said, larger spills may not be enough for a single cloth or mop.
- Targeting the Small: Pores, nooks and crannies, cracks are no match for microfiber. Due to the size of these miniature fibers, they can get into them and pull the soils out much more effective than traditional cleaning cloths.
- Reduction in Chemicals: Microfibers use significantly less chemicals and based on preference, sometimes just water. To use effectively, you want just the right saturation of liquid, whether water or chemical, on these products. Too much will cause the product to slide more on surfaces not allowing those tiny fibers to go to work, too little and you won’t get the soil removal benefit that liquids provide.
What Microfiber Isn’t?
- No Microfiber available on the market today is a disinfectant. Even microfibers marketed to contain silver particles or threads only contain them to inhibit the growth of the bacteria on the cloth.
- Microfiber removes, not kills, 99% of dirt, dust and bacteria from surfaces.
- While this is a lot compared to traditional cleaning cloths, in the world of germs, it isn’t.
- Germs are everywhere; let’s say you have 1,000,000 germs on a surface, if you multiply this number by 99%, what number is left? Answer is 10,000. If the germs are bacterial, they can duplicate exponentially every 16 to 20 minutes.
- This creates an unsafe, unsanitary environment for you and your loved ones. I understand what you may have heard at parties or your friends regarding silver technologies, but I invite you to explore the manufacturers’ websites of these technologies and you will see that they only claim soil / bacterial removal of 99% and that the silver inhibits the growth of odor causing bacteria (not kill the bacteria) on the cloth, not on surfaces. If you take anything away from this information, please remember our second goal to you, it is that NO MICROFIBER AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET IS A DISINFECTANT
Best Practice is to Launder Microfiber Between Uses
- Microfiber is not intended to be used daily without laundering them.
- Here is a personal story; my girlfriend could only afford a couple microfiber personal cleansing cloths from another supplier. She used them daily, oftentimes just wringing them out and letting them dry to be used the next day. The issue is that much of the soils become trapped between the fiber splits and it limits the effectiveness of the microfibers themselves.
- If the cloth contains silver technology, soil loads, make-up, and skin oils helps protect the bacteria and reduces the silver’s ability to inhibit their growth on the cloth.
- Laundering daily, using proper care instructions, will release the soils from the fibers allowing them to function as intended.
- Like everything in this world, even microfiber has its limits. It can only hold so much soil where it is not effective anymore. The more cloths you use, the better chance the cloth has to perform with its amazing benefits as well as to reduce cross contaminating your surfaces.
Understanding Silver Based Technologies
- Some products use silver particles, ions, coatings, or threads on microfiber cloths.
- Silver is a natural germicide, it has the ability to inhibit the reproductive cycles of bacterial cells.
- This will show an odor reduction if the products are not laundered frequently.
- With this being said, inhibiting is not complete disinfection, and the cloth will still contain some bacteria. Silver based technologies will not cleanse the cloth of the soils that you have picked up using microfibers.
Providing Microfiber at a Fair Price
- Our third goal is to provide you, our customers, with a fair price on microfiber technology. By doing so, you can buy more microfiber.
- Microfiber really is an amazing product when used as it was designed for. While we would be glad to sell you one cloth, we would prefer to sell you the amount you need to do the job correctly or to clean your face with a fresh cloth daily without breaking the bank.
